so, something i noticed while modifying a 9 slot ship down to an 8 slot ship. every functional block, except the hanger (for some odd reason) and computer cores, all have the same processing power per volume scaling. currently hangers have +0.2 processing power per unit volume, computer cores have +7.5 processing power per unit volume, and every other functioning block has a 1:1 scaling.
i think it would be more interesting to split some of the functioning blocks to 3 levels: low (0.2:1), medium (1:1) and high (7.5:1) functioning blocks. where things like cargo, crew quarters, torpedo storage and maybe energy containers be low level functioning block, computer cores still have their high level of functioning blocks and everything else have the medium.
