fps Good PC extremly low FPS

Hi guys,

I have a good PC but the FPS ingame are extremly low (<20 to 50; ~100 main menu). CPU load is below 20% and GPU load below 10%.

My Specs are:

• Ryzen 5 5600X
• 32 gb RAM
• RTX 3080

There are no know issues with my system (I have the newest drivers, even up to date BIOS etc.) and i tried many things:

• Many System resets
• Stable Branch / Beta Branch
• Different graphics settings and resulutions (low /high) - no difference
• Fullscreen / non Fullscreen
• Gysnc on / off
• Without second monitor
• Different Nvidia System Settings
• GeForce Experience on/off
• With CPU Overclock and without
• Windows Compatibility Settings

All the settings I tried make absolutly no difference.

 

I created a json file as mentioned here, but it is too big for free pastebin user.  Thats why i pasted the contents into a .txt file.

The main bits with Avorion that I've heard cause lag are:

a.) A LOT of lights

b.) A LOT of glass

c.) A lot of really big ships

d.) Extremely complex physics calculations 

Other than that, I have no clue. Wifi doesn't matter because it's all offline.

Hi! Similar issue here. Found a partial fix! My specs:

i5-6600 @ 4.5Ghz (OC)

RX580 8GB

16GB of RAM

Running WIN 10 Pro and the game on SSD.

I want to stress out I own the game since beta, playing from time to time to relax. Last week I wanted to jump in and see what's new, after a year's break. But it was literally unplayable due to poor performance ~20FPS. I tried everything that came to my mind, but nothing's really changed. Today I fixed it, well sort of.. I downloaded cracked 1.3.8 version from third party provider and it works flawlessly! So in my case, I can tell this is not game's fault, but actually Steam's.

PS. I am not encouraging piracy by any means, but this helped me find the culprit. This may be helpful to someone.

removing steam CRUFT sounds like a good idea.

I'll probably go try that and see if my 1 minute connection wait time to 127.0.0.1 gets better.
