Zorashad
When flying through the space in Avorion i sometimes get incredible frame rate issues. These seem to happen when either i get to close to an asteroid (or mine containing a generated asteroid) or select them. While normally i have 60 fps and the GPU is at 30% according to task manager, when i get close to them it drops down to 5 fps. It normally happens after i am close to them for a little bit (+- 30 sec). I do not get this framerate issue even when a large fight (+- 20 ships) is happening around me or when i am in my 3000 objects ship i created. It happens in sectors with mines and also scrapyards, but i did not test the issues with the scrapyard as much. While i can deal with it by just avoiding asteroids. It is very annoying when trying to build my mines that my fps drops to 5 almost forcing me to re log which fixes this for a short while. I hope anyone can help me with this issue. Attached i have a server log and client log of mine. one of the example situations where it happened was around 18:02, but i do not see anything that could indicate an issue in there myself. cy414
from what i can tell such stuttering is associated with spikes of i/o which is likely the game dumping/loading things between the ram and hdd page file. how much ram do you have and what sort of hd, on what model of board? Zorashad
Thank you for answering, as for you questions: i have 16 gb ram, i don't understand what you mean with hd, and the motherboard is AX370-Gaming K3.
phezzan
hd - harddisk. The place all your data is stored. Before my SSD - I was suspicious of IO being a problem so I loaded the game into a ramdisk. Fortunately it's not very big. 4GB of RamDisk is plenty. I did my research and selected imdisk - (64bit, free, opensource, fast, feature-ful, and the author uses ISO date format proving he's smart)http://www.ltr-data.se/opencode.html/ Feel free to do your own research, I'll give you a touchpoint https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_RAM_drive_software
