Fog is too thick

I have a problem with some of the systems that can occur in the game. There are systems where the fog is too thick. There is an option to disable fog, but it doesn't do anything with these systems, and instead removes a bunch of bill boarded clouds.

 

I have the hardest time seeing in the fog. I have tried modifying the shader files to get rid of it. But as far as I can tell the fog is baked into the game binaries. I can't see anything, and it gives me migraines.

 

The fog color seems to be influenced by the shader file, "monocolor.frag" but if I were to make it return a color of

vec4(0);

it just seems to make the "fog" non-existent, but everything fades out in the distance as if there is fog.

 

I would like to know if there could be a way to mod the fog out of the game, and if not, I can go into the suggestions board and submit a suggestion to make an option to do so.
