Shape building help

For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to hook these two edge blocks seamlessly. Perhaps a talented builder out there could offer some advice? Link to pic below, paint lines added by me for emphasis:

I far as I know, there is not much that can be done in this situation. It has been something people have complained about in the past and I hope it does get its own block in the future. Out of all the ships I've built, there are still problems that come in the form of that every now and then, and I usually leave the spot empty - even if it bugs me to no end.

I've also encountered similar problems while building in the past, but I always wondered whether it was my inability to come up with a way to do it with the existing shapes, or a genuine lack of some necessary basic shapes.
