Patch 0.9.6

 

Date: November 9th, 2016

 

"A few bug fixes, quality of life improvements and a new block type: Hyperspace Core."

 

Features

 

"In order to make your life easier once you've reached the center, we've added Hyperspace Core blocks, which, when built with Avorion, will allow you to jump over rifts. We also added a lot more clarity for the Operation Exodus mission."

  • Research Station items are now sorted by rarity and type
  • New "Hyperspace Core" block
    • Increases jump distance
    • Avorion Hyperspace Cores allow players to jump over rifts

    [*]Fighters can be destroyed by dragging and dropping them out of the window

    [*]Weapons are assignable with the same game keys as they're selected with

    [*]Added more clarity to Operation Exodus

    • Added a "New Mission" display
    • Found beacons are logged
    • The next beacon locations can be shown on the map
    • Final beacon blinks

System

  • Made "Saving Galaxy..." screen more responsive so it doesn't feel like the program crashed

Balancing

 

"There is a specific tactic we want you to use against the Mobile Energy Lab, which is why we're cranking up its firepower. A lot."

  • Increased fire power of the Mobile Energy Lab by 1500%

Bugfixes

  • Additional range in beam weapons now affects visual lasers as well
  • Fixed beams of fighters not being shown
  • Fixed fighters wiggling while flying
  • Fixed several crashes in server CLI
  • Fixed radar upgrades not working immediately
  • Fixed a bug where colors were displayed when adding/removing upgrades
  • Fixed ludicrous prices for higher salvaging turrets
  • Fixed a bug where ships wouldn't stop shooting after enemies are defeated
  • Fixed smuggler rendez-vous point being generated into unaccessible sectors
  • Fixed research station not requiring to dock

Known Issues

  • Deleting stone blocks from a claimed asteroid and then pressing Ctrl-Z or Ctrl-Y doesn't restore money correctly
  • The same goes for repairing claimed asteroids

Not sure what that tactic is supposed to be... shoot the guns off? Hit and run?

(incidentally, can you jump out of boss battles? :V )

Absolutely (another reason why I don't want hyperspace blockers).

Odd, I seem to remember not being to jump out of my first fight with Swoks  ???

Maybe I'm misremembering or something.

 

I can tell you this: Maybe you shouldn't try to fight the energy lab unless your ship is ROCK hard ;)

I'd gotten used to not taking than more block off my shields in fights, let alone hull  :D

Also, I can blast asteroids to smithereens very fast with 16000 firepower and no mining lasers, so that's gonna have to be a lot of stone...

Maybe I should ask Trump to design my hull :V

Not sure what you mean here, could you explain better?

Before this patch assigning weapons ignored the keys you'd set up in the settings for "weapon group 1" etc and just used 1, 2, 3, ...

Now it uses the same keys, which allows me to actually bind weapons since my (non-qwerty) keyboard doesn't have 1, 2, 3, ... (well, not without shift)
