Ah, yes, I've definitely removed the root block which was probably the tiny parts from the founding ship I used.

Line 109-122 of the clientlog confirm my first guess.

You could try and use a third factory, where you didn't remove the rootblock, as the start of your complex and add the solar-power-plant to it. That should be a workaround.

 

Edit: You can turn DEBUGLEVEL to a lower number, if you wish.

Hey Laserzwei!

 

I'm loving this mod (and your others), but I still find that I can't buy/sell with my complexes even after you released the .86 update.

 

And using the BetterTransfer : UI Upgrade mod, I can't actually transfer cargo or crew with complexes, either.

 

The buttons will show up when I first select the complex and press F, but if I de-select and re-select them the buy/sell and transfer crew/cargo options are both not on the list. When clicking buy/sell it just does nothing, and when I open the crew/cargo transfer window it pops up normally, yet doesn't let any items move back and forth.

 

Any ideas? Also, kudos for the great work so far! I love your ideas, and your inspiration from X3 really makes me see a ton of potential for this game. After ~1,000 hours of X3TC and AP, I'm ready for more!

It sounds like one or both scripts crashed.

 

Please check, if this might apply to you:

- Having more than 15 goods in either the bought or sold List will crash the mod

      This behaivior is inherited from the vanilla tradingmanager.lua.

      WORKAROUND1: place some goods into the middle List (intermediates), BEFORE reaching 15 goods.

     

WORKAROUND2: edit complextradingmanager.lua line 565 to

    for i = 1, 50 do                                --TODO increase and make dynamic

This has the sideeffect of messing up the layout of the goods trading menu:

Wow, thanks for the prompt reply, Laser! I spent the evening reading through the forums, and I do believe you're right - both times it's happened, it's been after expanding my complex too large. I apologize, I hadn't read through both of your forums posts before I posted my issue. I'll give it a try today and let you know how it works.

 

 

EDIT: Changing the limit for 15 to 50 worked perfectly, and allowed me to move my items from the sell list to the middle list. Thank you again, your help is greatly appreciated!

Is this from Complex? Because the crash occured after that.

There is not a single message from the complex mod. (They all start with [CPX3])

How is it about oosp suppoert? Did you already plan to implement? I'm really missing it... uselly you are not always in every sector where you built a complex  ;)

OOSP support is definitely planned!

Sadly finding an algorithm that can simulate big complexes( 60+ Stations) over 120,000 Cycles ( =3 weeks) in a way that doesn't make the CPU cry (50ms is the absolute max. amount of time I am willing to dedicate to this task. I am aiming for 20ms) is not exactly an easy task.

Sounds like lot of calculating for the cpu. Maybe you could cap the oosp time to something like 5 days or whatever is possible for large stations? That's still much more then nothing  ;)

It will be able to handle it on the simulation side.

Depending on the size( size of the geometry!) of the complex you might experience lower framerates-the same way any very detailed ship/station will do so.

You should definately have a look into the "known issues" on the frontpage (especially the 15 goods in either a buy/sell list).

Once i had an accelerator factory + a lvl10 Targetting System factory with all other productions I needed for. This was at least 150 stations or more at all in one complex.

Sometimes i got performance issues. It really helps when you delete all parts but the root block of each factory, before you add it to the complex. It increases performance a lot when you have many factorys. You also need much less space to build it, you can stack the root blocks into each other.

 

That was really funny and profitable, I didnt know what to do with all the money  ;D Too bad that the galaxy crashed cause of a full hard disk...  :(

  - Fixed a bug, where not having enough resources could lead to dataloss

  - added Complex Management menu, in which Name and Title of a station can be changed

  - complexfactories can be sold (at 70% of the initial factory cost). This can not be undone. The Buildings stay in tact.
