So I am asking if this old system of mine could run a Dedicated Server for about 5 players. Devious Posted April 3, 2017 Share Posted April 3, 2017 You'll only find out when you try, all sectors would have to run on the same thread so you probably won't be able to have big fights in different sectors at a time without serious lag. I would suggest doing it this way instead of using the server.bat in your Avorion Steam folder. If you want your server to be listed in steam, please use the dedicated server tool. Here you find a tutorial on how to set it up: http://avorion.gamepedia.com/Setting_up_a_server Even if you don't want to have it public, there is a way to stop it from doing so in the server settings. Timmeynator Posted April 5, 2017 Share Posted April 5, 2017 RAM seems a little low though. I'm currently running an Ubuntu 16.04 dedicated server in Hyper-V and see memory usage (for the VM) jump up to about 3GB quite often and I'm having some minor issues with lag.
