Gatt
I have tried setting up ai captained ships to mine resources, but it seems that despite having lots of mining turrets and plenty of miners manning them the ships never seem to fire more than one or two turrets at a time. Is this an AI problem or just a ship design problem. Is it better to have one miner with alot of turrets or several small miners with 1 or 2 turrets. Thanks for any info
Splutty
You want the turrets spaced out a bit, but having said that, the AI is utterly retarded, so it isn't really your fault. They keep moving and jittering, so the lasers can never actually lock on, and when they do, the ships are generally too far away. Known issue :) I have a bunch of salvager ships in my sector, and I make them small with lots of turrets.
Pob
Part of the issue seems to be that they make strafing runs on rocks they don't align, park and fire The odd part is watch the non-player faction AI miners, they seem to happily align, park and fire
