Today in Avorion I've jumped into a yellow blip found myself surrounded by pirates system defence... the shields of my newly constructed frigate could handle them with ease but one of my escorting little mining ships, the BBS Melanie, wasn't so lucky... well I blew up every single pice of pirat s*** including their shipyard in my anger. Now I'am going to build myself two escort ships for the Louise to Byrne these pirates to the ground. One of them will be named "Melanie's Redemption" Anyone red Peter F. Hamilton? By the way is there a possibility to take over a sector owned by pirates?

It is possible. First purge all stations, then build your own station in there ;)

Attempted to build something that looked decent, fit a theme, and worked well. I've been so hung up on that I haven't even made it to the galactic center yet.

 

Technically this was a few days ago but I've been spending my days at class and haven't had any time but you get the idea.

i made a new starter ship. it's big enough to do the basic mining and early exploring but small enough to have a low price.

Solved some serious angle challenges in my Roci replica :)

 

Figured out how to do the engine supports...these little bastards sloping in every direction was a pain

Figured out how to convert the gun mounts to a 45 degree angle for the front of the ship (the one un-built was the original shown at normal build angle)

just made it to trinium space and got some nice weapon drops

left the pc do do some afk mining during a smoking breake

found me killed by something...

respawned in the very first starting system becourse of... reasons....

ragequitted galaxy and started a new one with higer difficulty  ::) (veteran this time)

 

lessons learned:

- smoking kills

- leave galaxy during smoking breaks or stop smoking (im not aware of any pause funktion, is there any other way ?)

- set respawn points at least every new resource zone

Found my first wormhole, which led to me mining my first bits of green stuff! I was able to mine JUST enough green stuff to create my own shield, which was a good idea since everyone else had shields ;).

 

Then got robbed by some jerk who promised me big money for delivering a suspicious package haha.

Crying... much crying...

Early Morning, sitting in front of my PC, listening to nice music, happily living my life, as suddenly i noticed one of those Windows-Info-Bubbles on my Taskbar showing up for half a sec, talking about "Defect-Index-Volume-Something", then Bluescreen, then Reboot... or at least TryToReboot... long story short, System Partition lost, reinstalled Windows, now i'm still sitting here preparing Drivers, Service Packs and stuff and... yes, still crying... why oh why werent my shipfiles saved in the Steam Folder, safe on the Games' E:\-Partition? :'( or why didnt i backed up ALL of them recently?  >:( or why the hell does my hardrive such things to me?  ???

I recorded 3 hours of game play that I will probablly throw out, designed 3 cheap mining/salvage ships (less than 100cred, 100Iron, 100 Titanium each) and destroyed rep with my home faction via cap ship vs station collision on full.  Note to self, even turn and burn takes some time.

 

I hope to start my own creation thread.  As I have not gotten into the core (too much time messing around in other pursuits) My ships are all lower material and lower cost than some of the wonderful behemoths I've seen.

I ' lost half my fleet to xsotan and pirate spam building a new top of the line battlecruiser using all the tech we know of! (For me xanion, haven't broken galactic core)

 

I'll upload a pic of my new baby today, just got to put some lights on her. Ill also upload two of my babies that I lost in the process.  (Was literally my first design that I just kept adding to it so it looks miserable lol)

Re-installed Avorion

Continue to build a station from a save file.

well i would say Yes and no at the same time.

The actual base for this station is the same as the original fallout architecture, a fusion of: Neo gothic and Art Deco Architecter with big statue faces.

Let us bring this thread back to life!

 

Have build a new trade station and updated the current ones to the new design.

Tuned a friends ship and reduced his crew costs.

Then wiped out a pirate sector and sold their stuff to the neighbors in the next sector.

And thought about a design for a shipyard because the current one looks too "functional".

Tried Avorion again, I had a whiteboard with a Cyclungeon ogonitegrade station drawn on it. So I took the galaxy on a key to my directX-less laptop, initialized a server and tried solo multiplayering with my rig (like in my Survival campaign).

Ran into almost the same problems. Ten to twenty seconds after jumping, game litterally freezes for half a minute, then resumes normally until the next jump :(.

At least it didn't disconnect, so I started exploration beyond the Astral Gate, aboard a custom AWACS flak Mochi mounted with a red +12 Deep Scan Range sensor. Found a duplicate of the destination, with 92 Reaper Attack Pots idling around, so the Mochi got littered with supplementary hangars on the other side of the now-decorative Computer Core-made radar dish.

Second jump: Xsotan fleet encounter ! I had to fire for them to notice the Mochi... and her escort, the CII Tenebris, the prototype Bellator-class Superdestroyer.

But the Xsotan were mostly killed by the Moxie's 92 Reaper Attack Pots (30.66 slots' worth of railgun fire) ::).

Third jump: Xsotan breeding system ! But there was a wormhole ! After a "quick" massacring of the local fauna, the wormhole's destination turned out to be more-or-less 16 sectors from civilization with an asteroid field straight in-between.

So, the first Cyclungeon was installed in that future Ogonite Yard location, after a server restart because I somehow forgot to bring my custom shipfounder.lua script, so my "Station Founder" wasn't one ::). Here it is~

I don't have any screenshots but picture two Castellans with bigger side-dungeons, linked by those side-dungeons (I put a third on each Castellan) by two Primeforts, including one with twin hangars.

 

But I'll pass making new ships in that sector until I can play Solo again, since among the next ones will be the Miuna-class Heavy Station, which'll be long, and three of the weakest CII military ships of the Inner Sphere, and I'd like to not be interrupted or destroyed by constant onslaught 8). Pausing rocks !
