      • I'm creating this imaginary company that make ship as a fun project

The name of the Company is Bravo Independent
(changed name do to the existence of a real life company named Bravo Industries)

I'm using a system for the names of the ships that allows the identification of the materials used in its construction
(but only for the main ones, some ships have light made form a specific material that is not on the name)
        • Iron = IR.
        • Titanium = Ti.
        • Naonite = Na.
        • Trinium = Tr.
        • Xanion = Xa.
        • Ogonite = Og.
        • Avorion = Av.

Also the number after the materials indicates the System Upgrade Sluts

Really nice fine detailing. I have a bad habit of slapping on nacelles on every ship I build so these "single-piece" designs or however you call them are somewhat difficult for me.

My personal favourite is the advertisement ship. It's a total win and cracked me up the first time I saw it. xD

Nice. I like the look of the large clusters of engines and the attention to details.

I'm using a system for the names of the ships that allows the identification of the materials used in its construction...

That's very similar to the system proposed in the "Ship class? Frigate / Corvette / Battleship?" topic, as explained here and here.

The main difference is that their system specifies the number of module slots. Examples would be {ship name} Na-4 or {ship name} Xa-7. The number of slots instantly gives everyone a clear picture of just how big a ship is. Knowing how many slots a ship has also conveys how dangerous a combat vessel is or how much cargo a freighter can haul, because more slots means more turrets or more cargo modules.

I am quite impressed by your ability to produce ships with such details and such practical stats. Those are gorgeous, realistically-sized and priced. Love what you did to mount turrets, too. Much impressed. One caveat, though, that braking thrust, *takei voice* oh my...

I mean, yeah, you can turn the ship around and use your forwards thrust to brake, but with such high top speeds and only above-average yaw/pitch stats... It must be quite the art to utilize that speed and not drift to hell and back when trying to dock... or perhaps I'm just too lazy and need to learn to fly.

Absolutely pleasing to look at though.

Tanks. I am sorry to say but the advertisement ship didn't won the poll.

As for station they are like ships but they don't move and depending on the type you will need to get some resources in order to produce more complex resources. (correctly i only use it as decoration or for experiments)

Interesting Design for the starter ship, but dont they suffer from shooten out braking thruster?

My nosemounted ones were picked out regulary, so i try to avoid them now or at least cover them with some edges whilde still keeping the flame exhaust...

Oh, and was the Poster always there? Cool one, i like, the Station in the background fits the Avorion-theme very well! Captain Iglo approved!!  8)

Well, on my last early game i suffered of the problem that basically anyone wanted to fight me!  :o True tho, i usually try to mine and upgrade first to a bigger design.

Nevertheless i'd be interested to hear of other expieriences...

I did mean to mention that while I didn't do any fighting until I made a ~10k titanium ship, that ship did have nose breaking thrusters that were constantly getting shot off! Learned quickly to move them elsewhere (I didn't know you could just cover them up at that point).

well this is a starter ship so it's for resource gathering mainly, i have tested the iron one in combat vs pirates and the DTU on the front did't explode.

I lost armor and side thruster most of my encounters with pirates and so far didn't lose the braking thruster a single time, it can be because of me using asteroids as cover ,luck or simply the braking thruster size is just perfect for not bluing up in this iron/titanium Encounters

also some of the category's i have for the ships, force me to test them in their purpose

Ex.: Pirate hunter ships have to be good vs large numbers of Pirates, the last one i added was tested against Avorion pirates ships and survived (Pirate Hunter 2).

For the starter ships my main goal is to be good in mining and reaching Naonite area with out big problems and under a small budget of goods

For the poster i put it in the end of the last weekend, i was playing with gimp2 to see what i can do and can't to see what is different between it and Photoshop

They ware the fist ships i made, so i din't knew if having hangers was a good or bad idea so the only reason in the end was it looked good.

The new one has only 2 and that is because its a B version and if the original had it, it would be alien to the design if i had completely remove it.

But I may remove it entirely in the next one in order to fever maneuverability and other systems.
