monsto
2003 called... want's it's forum back. The feature set and UI of this forum is... old. There's plenty of modern forum softwares available. I'd be willing to assist in a migration if you'd consider upgrading. Better forum examples: Flarum: https://discuss.flarum.org/ Discourse: https://try.discourse.org/ Vanilla: https://vanillaforums.com/en/showcase/ (pick a showcase item for demo) Vanilla uses https://vanillicon.com/ for randomized icons. Excelsior
It seems to be doing its job just fine. I've used ton's of different ones over the years and finally settled on Xenforo myself. Plus the steam login option is super nice.
SadisticSweety
Idk, why fix something that's not broken? Very simple imo.
monsto
Of course it's not broken... it's dated. I'm not suggesting fixing something broken, I'm suggesting using a facility that's simply better.
Tchey
It's not old at all. It's what its name says : a simple yet powerful machine. It's very mod friendly, has a great community, and it does the job well. It's actually one of my favorite engine, as a user and as an admin (i had a few small private forums based on SMF over the last decade). I like this brut, plain, simple, direct approach much more. Ellert van Koperen
Attaching images is bothersome and can not be done inline, it does not integrate well with simple things like gravatar, the tiny pagenumber buttons are hell to click on from a mobile.. etc etc. does its job well ? no, not in my opinion. Semaphorism
Honestly, I completely agree wit upgrading to a newer more modern software. Sure, I've worked with SMF a ton before, and was a great software (still is) Though I think It would be beneficial to move to something like Discourse, an open source forum, that self moderates, and is quite the powerful forum software. Plus it has push notifications, its own mobile apps, and live posting (so if you're looking at the page, and someone replies) it will show
acc
I like this one. I can't stand that modern crap with all that overlays and notification and unnecessary effects. this forum is simple and functional, focused on the content. that's how a forum should be imho. Discourse is a great forum software, I don't know what forums you see overlays on, but discourse doesn't have annoying overlays of any sort. Notifications come in more handy than you may think. With discourse, you can turn on push notifications so your browser notifies you when you have a reply, mention, etc.
thedamngod
koonschi said that he is completely focused on the game. This means that there won't be any changes to the forum in the near future. ... I don't think you know what it takes to make a game, there are like 2 programmers for this game, that isn't that much, and they are not making a forum, its using open source software that already exists. Just ignore it and report stuff like that. We don't need to feed the troll.
