Taking over Territory

Suggestion

Taking over territory's helping ally's take over territory that are at war.

Eventually you would be able to get your own territory but this would cost a lot of materials wouldn't do it at the start.

Going to explain how it would work for helping the ally's

Step 1: You would have to kill of 5 wave's of enemy's getting gradually stronger with the last one summoning a boss and 5-10 other ships.

Step 2: Kill the enemy station (every territory has a station that needs to be killed)

Step 3: AI will try and make a station this can take upto a few in-game days or weeks idk whats a good balance here.

Now we would be going into taking over territory and making it your own.

Step 4: As step 3 stated building a station would be the key to make it your own. This would require materials from iron to Xanion and maybe even avorion or ogonite want feedback on what you think it should cost it could be. But I am thinking millions or at least 500-600k of like xanion so you couldn't go around the starting area and claiming it as your own.

Step 5: You would need a lot of staff to run this maintance on a station isn't cheap.

Step 6: You would need to leave a AI controlled defender fleet behind to defend it. I would say 5+ Ships

Now this could make you some money ofc producing stuff setting up trade routes with friendly AI to generate a passive income.

I know this is a big idea and probably not easy to do but I would like to see some ability to take over territory and removing those enemy factions for good. And then I can call a place Home and be an intergalactic emperor!

I love the idea of Territory claiming and expansion.

Personally I think something along the lines of Empire Earth and Civilization would be a perfect system. You expand your territory borders by building in sectors connected to your established "home city". There's plenty of empty, non-claimed space to build a home station in. Conquering other other factions, or helping another allied faction conquer, could be worked in with the boarding system. Fly to stations in their outer sectors, attack them, use boarders to infiltrate the stations. Make it strategic like an RTS. Take out their shipyard and they can't build more ships. Take out their Military base and they can't spawn patrol/fighter ships and their overall "security" crew force diminishes. Give us the option to destroy or convert when we successfully board stations.

A very systematic and realistic approach. Push their borders back or claim their sectors converting them to your own. Require operation of food and resource farms to sustain a population in your territory. Everything you build can have pros and cons. Maybe a casino will bring in money but also attract outlaws. Add a nice "RTS management/sim" feature where you balance population, building stations to bring in more people, which allow you to increase military forces, more trade, etc.

Anywho, I 100% approve of the idea of claiming and taking over territory!

I decided to eradicate a faction who stopped me for cargo too many times, but I've been wondering if there's even a mechanic in game to handle this. I'm still getting their headhunters sent after me in systems they used to own, I think. It's a moot point in any case because when I asked where their home system is, it was inside a rift, but still I'd like to know. I did also wonder if taking out their shipyards meant they wouldn't have any new ships. I definitely support bringing the RTS elements into the game.
