Boxelware Team koonschi Posted January 11, 2014 Boxelware Team Share Posted January 11, 2014 1. Are you behind a firewall? 2. Have you forwarded the UDP and TCP ports 24000 to the machine where the server runs? 3. Does this occur only if you try to play over Internet or also via LAN? 4. Try the above, if it's still not working, start the server with the command line options -t nw

Boxelware Team koonschi Posted January 11, 2014 Boxelware Team Share Posted January 11, 2014 I investigated this further. My conclusion is that you are behind some kind of firewall. The error message states clearly that your connection was refused actively. This is most likely due to routers, firewalls or virus scanners blocking packets or connections. Boxelware Team koonschi Posted January 11, 2014 Boxelware Team Share Posted January 11, 2014 UDP and TCP ports 24000 are the only ones necessary for this game. Unless, of course, your client is behind a firewall - Maybe that's whats causing trouble? When I think of it - it makes sense, the connection refused is in the server log, this means the client is refusing packets from the server. Check whether your client has a firewall blocking packets from the server.

Bers40k
after 2 hours playing happen something strange i can move my ship but my friend see my ship on his side ship dont moving. and i cant sell resources and cant jump to other sector attach server log i use CurrPort and see client cannot use UDP serverlog_-_Copy.rar
Boxelware Team koonschi Posted January 12, 2014 Boxelware Team Share Posted January 12, 2014 i use CurrPort and see client cannot use UDP What you described matches the case, but I can't imagine that this specific behaviour is an error in the game. I'll investigate it, but right now I don't know what might cause this, especially as you said it worked for 2 hours.

Boxelware Team koonschi Posted January 15, 2014 Boxelware Team Share Posted January 15, 2014 Are you running two servers at the same time? If yes, you should configure the second server to use another port than 24000.
Boxelware Team koonschi Posted January 15, 2014 Boxelware Team Share Posted January 15, 2014 Well, your firewall blocks the UDP packets somehow. Provide the server and clientlog of a session where you try to connect to the server behind the firewall.

Boxelware Team koonschi Posted January 16, 2014 Boxelware Team Share Posted January 16, 2014 You should use some sniffing software to find out where the packets get lost. It's the only way to find out what happens. But I'm afraid I can't help you there, you're on your own on this one.
