  1. Anyone willing to join me at some point to test out the player trade menu?
  2. I was referring to the time I tried to see how the game handles death by boosting myself full speed into an asteroid only for it to magically disappear on me, only to discover it was moved by the game out of my way. Then I tried pushing the asteroid slowly. No luck there just collision damage. But sometimes when I did the attempt to push an asteroid it just instantly blinks away to a nearby location.
  3. I mean I did request reputation change on repairing ai faction ships with the repair turret. But it would be silly if they made it negative. I've never experienced this behaviour before.
  4. Perhaps shipyard requires an abort current construction button.

Might be that the sector has too many objects for your pc to handle. Does it do it in other sectors too? And if you are flying with a big fleet try going to a sector without them following you, does it still do it? Other than that I can only say run the game, alt tab, press ctrl-alt-delete and see if any of your pc statistics are fully in use. Maybe something is hanging. If it is the sectors or fleet it would make sense to be limited to your save.
  6. Yeah, usually when I get a game I have a browse to see how modding works for a game. And to see if there are any mods to fix "pain points" a game might have. It is always interesting to me especially because I love making mods myself as well although they aren't super fancy. They get minor annoyances out of the way. And I just love bundling some good topics together as long as they don't get in each other's way. That's why sometime's I mention things but say I will explain it in another tutorial. Because it would make the video too long or too skewed towards one particular topic. Image how annoying it is to visit a video for say "How to salvage" only to have to go through a 20-minute rant about the different turret types to find out that there are salvage lasers and you can't salvage with a mining laser. That would be so annoying. I rather keep it clean and comprehensive. That way no one is ever confused about what they will learn in a tutorial. I'm glad you guys are enjoying the series so far.
  7. -Update- Just released the next video. "Chapter 1: Welcome to Avorion" - Setting up your configurations - Installing an unfinished language pack - Installing a mod - Starting a new game - The User Interface Hope you guys enjoy it! For most, I guess they will already know about most of the content. But then again. It's a full tutorial so anyone playing the game for more than 10 minutes will encounter stuff they already knew. But still guys! ENJOY! :3
  8. Yeah, I looked into this for about two days and came to the same conclusion. It's just not available at the moment. It seems the sector name is randomly generated and then stored in some database file. But after generation, it doesn't seem to be possible to change it at the moment.
  9. As a quick addendum. You can disable the "press space to continue" part of the loading screen in the options. Under the "game" tab. This will prevent confusion and definitely prevent death when jumping into a hostile sector. As you can still be shot and killed while this menu is up.
  10. Sorry, my answer was not explained correctly nor in-depth. Let me try again. Alternatively, you can do that thing everyone else seems to be doing.
  11. Death really isn't a problem for me in this game so far. Only died once. XD
  12. Going to go out on a limb here.
  13. Hey guys, This one is a bit weird and does not always work. But earlier today doing research for my tutorial series I noticed ramming an asteroid "VERY SLOWLY" sometimes results in the game moving the asteroid out of my way. I'm not sure of the conditions. I just know that most of the time it works if I fly into the asteroid directly and very slowly in a drone. If I understand what is happening it must have something to do with the placer detecting an intersection and moving the asteroid to a new location. If others can confirm this happens to them too then would be great thanks.
  14. Thanks, guys. Very informative. I was just wondering cause I destroyed myself in a drone several times with no visible negatives.
  15. Just a quick question guys but what do you lose on death in Avorion? I probably should know but I've only died once and I wasn't really paying attention to my losses. So what do we lose on death?
  16. As far as I am aware it is based on the sector (X-Y) values.
  17. @Shrooblord nice will consider those for future videos.
  18. Interesting. I wonder why no one ever made a map showcasing this. Good work aeohrta. I decided to make myself a mini-mod for that as well. The mod I made for myself gets the sector info and tells me the local resource type. Here is a link: https://github.com/DeathTech154/AvorionMods/tree/master/ResourceTypeAlert In-case anyone finds it interesting.
  19. Foreword Hey you! Welcome to my "In-Depth Tutorial for new players, the full guide completely" So before I throw lots of stuff at you I want to say that my tutorial series will be constructed in order to help new players and veteran, play, grow and expand their Avorion knowledge and skills. I will make initially a mini guide for brand new players to get over the way the game looks and handles. As a quick start guide. Afterwards, all of the very detailed in-depth stuff will be going on. For veterans, I would like to highly encourage you to say something if I say things that are incorrect or outdated in my tutorials. unlike my Evochron series, this game is still in active development and I may need to update things from time to time. As it stands I don't have any videos released on the topic yet. But once I do I will strip away these sentences and add said content. I intend to go over the whole game. And nothing but the whole game. So even for those who are already great at the game, feel free to watch the videos and let me know if everything is accurate to date. As a side note, none of the videos should be excessively long if they feel too long please alert me to this fact. So without further ado. Legend For future purposes I will be writing down currently planned videos in the series. I am going to be color coding them for you so you can easily see their progress. Red: Work has not yet started Grey: Script in progress Yellow: Script complete, recording in progress Orange: Recording complete, Editing Video Green: Video Produced, waiting for release window or released Titles will always be in red. 20. The plan code is in regards to the ship design.
  21. As far as I am aware the starting sector already contains a script to respawn resources. I made a mod for myself that allows me to extend that to any sector. Or simply just-in-case it adds the script to every sector. Because the mod just adds the script to all sectors but lets you set it up to work for all, or just for the spawn sector. Here is a link if you're interested in respawning resource asteroids. https://github.com/DeathTech154/AvorionMods/tree/master/ResourceRespawn
  22. It is very common for non-native writers to make such mistakes. Often in sound, I find something sounds a certain way but it is incorrect if written. An easy example is any non-native speaker trying to write "knife". Anyone who does not know how English works correctly and is learning by copying will write "nife". The "K" is silent in the spoken language so they would never know. And it's not a hangEr in this game. They are in fact hangArs. A hanger is something you put clothes on. A hangar is a place one would store airplanes or in this case spaceships. But yes, this sadly happens too often.
  23. People, you're all going a bit far, aren't you? What I do when building a ship is let the shipyard build a default randomised ship. Then tell it to follow you. Take it about 40 km in the opposite direction of the sector center. AI never spawn that far away and will be attracted to other stations or ships. You will be completely safe. Easy peasy.
