  1. Just curious - but do the devs look at this forum? Not sure why it exists if they dont. This issue is a pretty big one, keeping more servers from promoting the game and bringing in more players. I'd assume the devs would want to address it pretty soon so the growth of their game isnt severely hindered.
  2. use the command /list - i also struggled with this until i fully read the documentation. it will list you all the variables used in the other commands. weapons, ranks, materials, etc.
  3. Hi there. I setup a dedicated server. It is ubuntu 16.x I have NO iptable records, did a complete iptables flush. Then I accepted all traffic (input, forward, output). I turned OFF firewall (sudo ufw disable). So - ALL traffic is allowed through. However - if I use "useSteam=true" in server.ini - then nobody can connect to my server. If I turn it off, it works just fine. However without this on - my server wont show up in the server browser in-game. Can you look into how you are handling steam authentication? Or possibly find a better way to list servers in-game? I host 5-6 other gameservers for other steam games, like 7DTD, insurgency, ARK, etc. - and I have NEVER seen this issue before. I contacted my datacenter to ensure there is no outer layer of network blocks, and they did a thorough check - nothing is being blocked. Server is listening on 27000 and 27003 like it should. As I said there are NO ports being blocked, server is 100% open allowing ALL traffic through - and it still does not work. So it is 100% an issue with how the game server handles steam auth. I already had Dirtyredz and his crew try to help me - they seem to be the most experienced server hosts in the community - and they also said the same. Would be great if this got a little attention! Thanks!

  5. Hi all. I just recently got Avorion, and I'm hooked! So as normal, since I run a gaming community called GAMERSFORGE - I've setup our first server. With more to come! Our forum/community is located at www.gamersforge.com so be sure to check it out. Our servers are always the best hardware and are hosted in a direct T1 datacenter. Each server is private - and dedicated to the game it is setup for (no shared servers or virtual machines). Our first Avorion server is now LIVE IP: avorion-sf.gamersforge.com port: 27000 Web interface here: https://avorion-sf.gamersforge.com/ Unfortunately, steam authentication protocol is not working for our datacenter, so the server will not show up in the browser list. If I enable "useSteam=true" in the server config - nobody can connect to the server (though it will show up in the server list then). So for now, until Avorion fixes how it uses steam protocols, you will have to go into the menu "Multiplayer -> Join via IP" and add the server with the above IP. I'm looking for a few moderators, and more players to start building alliances. These servers are dedicated - and permanent. GAMERSFORGE has been running some of the top listed servers in many games for the last 6 years. Come join our community! Mods on this server: Regenerative Asteroids A few custom built additional stations in the starting sectors (will add more that improve gameplay as I discover them and test them for fairplay/balance) Rules on this server: No KOS. Dont kill on sight other random players. No PvP in the start sector and the next +3 linked sectors. If you want to fight other players - create an Alliance and fight under your Alliance. Preferably - declare war on the other Alliance. Be Mature - Respectful - and have Fun! Thats it!
  6. Small update: using "--use-steam-networking 0" allows me to connect to the server just fine using connect via IP. this means it wont show up in browser list however. Anyone having similar issue? What is the fix? I installed everything clean - on a new server - and its just not working with the steam networking. Server log says "Connected to Steam successfully" at the end.
  7. Also - I just tried to connect to the server and I get: "Server connection to XXX:27000 failed. Unreachable" Cant seem to fix it. Turned off firewall (UFW). netstat -tulpen shows gameserver on ports 27003, 27020, 27021 but no connections on 27000 (no players connected though and I'm sure thats normal as player connection comes in at 27000 and the others are query). I can connect fine to other servers - so its not my computer/network. Dont have any idea how to fix this. Cant find anything searching the net and forums. Any help appreciated. Something I should check? I'm running a linux ubuntu 16.x server remotely. Web server will still not load no matter what I try. Ports are open, even with firewall off/disabled still doesnt work. Server log says: 2017-12-02 06-25-01| Printed profiling stats to "/home/avorion/serverfiles/profiling_stats.txt" 2017-12-02 06-25-01| Profiling is disabled, no sector profiling stats printed. 8. Hi there! I LOVE your server manager! I decided to rebuild my linux server and use yours. Everything works great, except that the game description in browser still shows "An Avorion Server" rather than the text I put in my server.ini Also - the big issue is that web doesnt work. I installed PHP and apache with your commands in your first post, everything is fine. I opened all ports as listed using UFW. However I get the message below when trying to start webserver with ./manager start-web: [Manager]: starting PHP Server [Manager]: PHP Web Server Failed to start Would love to use the web interface! Let me know if you know whats wrong....should I check anything else on server to give you status eg on apache etc? Looks all fine to me though....
