  3. It's working on my server with the release. Some things may need to be renamed - I think for upgrades there was an upgrade or two where the search strings conflicted (such as ShieldBooster and ShieldImpen, I had to rename the ShieldImpen to Impen).
  4. Great mod! I'm apprehensive about installing this on our server, though. Is there a limit or can you perhaps limit how many asteroids can be jumped to a single sector? My concern is pvp griefing - Faction A jumps 100 asteroids in Faction B's home system to prevent them from logging in.
  5. This is because steam over-wrote a core script on the update that Carrier Command modifies to attach the mod's icon in your UI when you're in a compatible ship/station. You will need to re-add that script from Carrier Command and over-write: data/scripts/entity/init.lua
  6. The author seems to have abandoned this so I have made all of he relevant updates to the current release of the game to ensure all commands are working as intended.   7. Hi Chronoss, I'm one of the admins. We have notifications both in-game and on the server selection screen in the description. In-game we have a custom MOTD mod that automatically shows up in chat when a player joins. That links directly to the modpack. In the server screen, in the server's description there is a link again to discord so players can get the modpack (literally says: "For modpack join discord: link")
  8. Maybe it's a necro but just to provide the answer: Timer. The defeated player and/or his/her alliance has 5 minutes to return and reclaim their things before you can loot it. I kind of like the system. Stops the ganking that is so terrible on Eve. If you see someone in a smaller PVE ship, you better be double sure you can take them on and their alliance before you commit.
  9. @Burnthalo: The "Carrier - Autoassign" function causes a memory leak on dedicated servers that causes this crash: https://www.avorion.net/forum/index.php/topic,4719.0.html At first I thought it was the new patch, but after isolating this plugin (as in, uninstalling it produces no crashes after 24 hours and reinstalling produces a crash within 10-30 minutes) I was able to narrow down the crash to the autoassign function. So long as any other button is used, the dedicated server runs without issue indefinitely. However as soon as someone uses autoassign with miners, salvages, and fighters in a heavily patrolled system (target rich environment) the dedicated server will crash within the hour, and it crashes more and more often until, eventually, merely logging in the character that had autoassign active will crash the server. If you need any help in tracking this down, please don't hesitate to let me know. My name is Chip Patton in discord and I'm in the Avorion channel and I'd be more than happy to give you shell access to the server to help pin this down. It is possible that the other issues reported here are related, but I can confirm that by instructing my server's players to NOT use the autoassign button, the crashing has stopped.
  10. This is the dev's april fool's prank from last year.
  11. It seems the dedicated server is running out of memory with only 2 sectors active when saving. This server is a Dell PowerEdge U2 and has 236gb of ram and 32 Xeon cores (4 cpu's). This runs on x64 CentOS7. This occurs in a system where there is a lot of traffic and there are at least 2 full carrier's worth of fighters out and flying around performing various tasks. The ram usage for the game sits at about 5-6gb. "bad_alloc thrown for a size of 140703480704992" That's 140 Terabytes for a 421Mb save. Edit, this has now gone from crashing every 5-20 mins to crashing as soon as the first player joins the server. Edit 2, I have been able to stop this crashing by uninstalling Carrier Command. I'm referring this to the mod author. Triggered saving of all server data.   12. Strange, I just deleted the entire avorion directory for both server and client and reinstalled and still same thing :S I must be missing something then :S Edit: Yep. Server.lua was over-written with the patch and I totally forgot to re-add the ShipScript call.
  13. Starting from a fresh save, this mod doesn't appear to be working with the latest update. At least the Fighter icon does not display at the top-right corner.
  14. Thanks! While that wasn't the issue it did put me on the path to finding what it was. I've never opened the config file on anything but VIM so I knew that wasn't it, but I noticed the rconIp= was blank, and I don't think the game was parsing the config file past that point. After filling in the IP of the machine, everything worked fine again. It is working now. Also, for some reason the devs are using the 32 bit steamclient.so in the linux version of this game which causes issues on x64 machines. This is also easy enough to overcome after every patch by simply copying the steam/linux64/steamclient.so to the avorion root directory.

Hello all and Devs, I don't mean to troll or anything, as I'm well aware the topic of respawning resources in asteroids has been something that the developers have made clear that they do not want in the game. However, I have a rather large community and we just bought into this game and setup a public Linux Dedicated Server. We had 37 players online somewhat regularly throughout the day (and some 400+ players that came through and played on th server) since the patch and already resources around the starting "area(s)" (we have it set to dynamic starting which still places everyone in the same grid it seems) which means new players to the server are already finding it difficult to leap from iron to Trinium because the NPC difficulty is immense. It is my suggestion to keep multiplayer playable on populated servers to add a resource respawn ability (and the mod doesn't work) until infinate proceedurally generated sectors can be added so asteroid fields will spawn the further out you get from 0,0,0 inside of sectors (so it isn't just nothingness). It is not reproducible that I can see but I've seen it several times where the AI will outright stop working on some ships (especially those trading or mining or patrolling) and will completely spaz out locking a ship into one direction and at full speed in which the only way to get that ship back is to chase it down with another ship and try and intercept/board it. This is using the dedicated server on windows 2016 server standard.

That would be great because my only recourses are to (a) move to another OS that is bleeding edge or (b) install a custom glib library which will require that I recompile every installed package on the server which is a no-go.
