  1. I run it at 1080p, the 4K resolution isn't that great in most games for me. The game looks the same on this as my old 1080p 24" monitor, but everything is bigger so I can read it... :D Cheers..!
  2. Lag issues compared to [r7844]: -Initial lag issues much better with regard to salvage and mining, lag increased over time to where larger asteroids/ships were again lying about parts that were actually gone. -First wave of pirates snapped in without any lag. Second alien group minor lag and subsequent groups with increased lag. -Ship builder lag felt the same. Single vertical oriented blocks were OK, but groups, mirrored anything and horizontal blocks not so much. As a build session got past a minute or two I was waiting 2-3 seconds for a block I placed to appear before I could continue with simple 2x2x2 squares. Copy/Paste anything lagged a lot, especially if more than one block or mirroring was involved. -I found a sector with a bunch of containers and was working through them when the game had a hiccup and then went down for the count. -Space bar worked good at first but decayed over time. New for [r7847]: -Ship repair from the build screen no longer functions properly. I got a wait 25 seconds to repair counter, but it never went down. Warped to the next sector and it was 20 seconds, but again wouldn't go down. 3rd sector was 10 seconds and again, no countdown. I eventually had to go to a repair station, all of this for one single block... -Gradual increase in stutter and lag over time in all above mentioned areas. 3570K, Evo 850 SSD, 16 gb RAM and an Nvidia 980. There is no client or server log for this session... Is there another place I can look or another file that can be used for info..? Cheers..!
  3. I'm on a 43" 4K TV and the UI is huge... With all this real estate, I can't have two windows open without half of them off the screen somewhere. It would be awesome to have a scaler to set the windows at 75% or so of what they are so I could have say the trade window open along side my cargo hold inventory... Yes please... Cheers..!
  4. No reason except I like not having to press anything to see what kind of cash and resources I have at any given moment. Comes in quite handy when you're planning things out in your head as you travel/mine/salvage etc. Now I have to stop what I'm doing, click a button, figure what I want to do and then go back to whatever it was i was doing. Not having that information on the screen for me is rather inconvenient. If we could please have the option to keep it there instead of having the whole flow of game play come to a grinding halt every time I want to think about trading or building. Pretty please..? Cheers..!
  5. I dug mine out as the lag is really bad for me in some situations. A copy of my post in the bug section: Curious if anyone else is having issues with lag in a couple situations: -Space bar on the load screen is hit a number of times until it lets me in. (unique to this build) -Huge lag with deleting/placing blocks in the ship builder. (started last build, but is terrible now. exit/enter no longer helps.) -Huge lag with pieces parts when salvaging/mining. (started last build minor, now can be 4-5 seconds or more for the items to update what has been removed. Had to stop mining altogether as on bigger asteroids I mine dead space for awhile before the asteroid image updates and I can see there's nothing there. You can cheat by watching the white progress bar underneath, but it's so tiny it's become a pain in the nether region to deal with for any length of time. This is an issue for salvage as well as parts will explode, but remain making you think you're doing something but you're actually just wasting time) -Huge lag when ships warp in. (started two builds ago minor, getting worse each build) I'm running a 3570K, 16 gb ram, a 980 and win 10. Cheers..! clientlog_2017-03-27_15-53-43.txt clientlog_2017-03-27_19-35-18.txt

  7. The computer blocks shaving a little time makes sense TBH... We have cards and blocks for distance and time for recharging so it should be a thing. Kinda surprised it's not. As long as it's never instant I'd be fine with something like that. Mods will likely make instant a thing once all that gets going, which will make everyone happy. Or at least closer to happy...
  8. I'd have to say please don't... Immersion wise it makes complete sense to have it take more time to calculate far away points versus hopping a sector over. I hate seeing everything being instant this or instant that just to get to the next thing to get the game done. I don't even care if I ever get to the end of all the quests or story lines anytime soon TBH. I'll get there eventually... It also gives that lovely "Hollywood" tension trying the get the heck out of dodge as shots are flying all around and the shields are failing and I'm shouting for it all to get there so I can live to fight another day. I like that I have to be on high alert jumping into strange places. (would love to see the constant need to reset the independent targeting fixed to help with that) Knowing I'm going to have to survive a possible fight before I can warp back out of a sector is a nice deterrent. It's frustrating when you're on your lonesome just hanging out or trying to get back from the backwater holes in the wall, but then again the tedium of the vastness of space is what it is; it's part and parcel of the core game. I'd hate to lose that for gamey game sake... Cheers..!
  9. So... Found another set of X,Y coordinates and found ye olde empty space. (it's for rent if anyone is interested) The map may indeed be buggered. Time for some new adventures in brick modelling and particulating pirates... As for the seed, may hap some good news. It's "2", not a game generated number. Thanks for the help all. Nice to know I wasn't just losing another marble. Cheers..!
  10. Yes, I followed the trail to the edge. Problem is the last location is on an island of normal space surrounded by distortions, so it isn't accessible unless I can find a wormhole or gate to get to that island... I've just spent the afternoon visiting another bunch of dots looking for the bridge with no luck. A ton of dead pirates though. And I made the mistake of accidentally disturbing some prayers... Probably wouldn't be so bad if there was anything worth anything out here in East Podunk, but the Real Estate market is shite (asteroids are selling for $0) and the ships and weapons are all Iron... Must just be some stroke of seriously bad luck. I've read of these types of walls surrounding other things. Have to say they just suck the life out of the game. Actually, they just just suck... Thanks and Cheers..!
  11. I'm down in the corner of the map looking for a way to jump the distortions to get over to the last site... The edges are all yellow dots, which I've hit nearly 50 with 2/3 still to go to find that magic bridge into the little island of real space where the final site resides. Am I missing something..? Does the worm hole only leave from a green dot sector or am I really going to have to spend another day and a half visiting each and every boonyville hiccup in space trying to find that one magic dot. This may be "an important story line", but honestly I'm to the point I could care less. Having purple cards doesn't even help. I hope there's something I'm missing that will make this worthwhile, fun and interesting as I feel right now all I'm doing is redefining boring... Cheers..!
  12. First: YouTube is your friend. Many vids showing ship building there, it's where I learned what's what. Grid sizes are pretty straight forward. One is for the pieces and one is for "world" that you attach them in. Smaller increments mean more control over size and placement. For example, .25 vs .5; .25 would give you half steps for size and placement compared to .5. I have read to never use a step ending in .5, as it doesn't play well when scaling later on. I'm still building pretty bricks for the most part so I couldn't say... Colors: Click the palette lower left and pick a color. Click the circle icon in the top line next to the color, click the color block next to it. Go to the block you want to color and click it... Manuel has the day off... Cheers..!
  13. It should be noted the TV version isn't as representative as the books in what the ships were actually equipped with to handle these high thrust/high G maneuvers. In the show they have the little office chairs. In the books they have crash couches. They are gel filled and allow a body to sink in to help absorb some of the G forces. The occupants are also injected with a bunch of different drugs to allow the body to handle higher loads. It was was one of the big things I was waiting to see how they did in the show. It was a bit of a let down they didn't really represent it well. There are a number of issues with side effects and with what they limits actually are in the books that will have to be written differently or glossed over. The series is by James S A Corey (which is actually two guys) and are pretty good reads. Cheers...
  14. Today I found out my AI captain has a drinking problem... He was a dapper man when I hired him, full of energy and raring to go. I gave him my personal ship, the one that had made me millions and sent fear into the hearts of pirate and alien alike. Then he discovered it had no weapons, just a bunch of mining and salvage lasers. It was only later I learned of his crushed boyhood dreams of daring do and all that. I never would have known any of it had I not witnessed his "skill" in the captains chair. At first, he blamed the pilot. I hadn't hired skilled crew, that was why the ship kept ramming everything around it when working. After three pilots, it was the thrusters. After a complete engine and thruster refit it was the controls. After a complete energy and control system overhaul it was the weather. After three systems with nary a dust cloud he was left without excuse. And then he backed into me. My brandy new piece of trinium brick. With a huge dent in the front fender... That did it. Upon searching his locker we found one stash. His room looked like the liquor cargo bay. In actual fact it was the liquor cargo bay... Three bottles were in the cushions of his captains chair and heaven help the ship if there was a fire as every extinguisher slot had been replaced with Folgers Crystals Rum. Hiring a new captain, I thought my days of watching him spend more time moving the ship around than the all the dancers at a ballet recital combined were done. But alas, twas not to be. It appears all of the AI captains suffer from this same malady. They can't just sit still and mine or salvage. Maybe that's why they all drink... Cheers..!
  15. Turning the fog density down helps a little, the light isn't carried everywhere as painfully... I have real issues with glare and pain from bright lights, and agree it would be quite helpful to turn the suns down. At least as an option or accessibility thing. As it stands I have to stop playing quite often due to headaches from all the glare. Cheers..!
