  1. I see the devs respond to post on there all the time.
  2. I really like this ship design. I have to admit I used the dramiel as a template/inspiration to build upon. I'll post some pics of the final product later when I get home from work.
  3. Option 3 was my choice with some minor tweaks. Mostly I just want to be able to take one of my turrets and place it into a factory and be able to replicate an exact copy of it if I have the proper crafting materials. Oh and some resizing options as well.
  4. Multiplayer is not important to me now days. I prefer a good single player experience and I find multiplayer in a setting like this to be to tedious to set up and get running. Maybe if they add official dedicated servers I will give them a try someday but for now single player is fine with me.
  5. I think adding a trinium inertial damper would be perfect as it is a good middle ground material.
  6. Today I found a computer component factory that had a shortage of microchips and there was a microchip factory only 10 kilometers away! Needless to say I became a millionaire in a very short amount of time.
  7. I have noticed in the most recent beta build 7633 that sometimes when I pass through a jump gate my ship and several other ships will all spawn on top of each other when the new sector loads up. I have had up to 4 different ships including my ship all spawn in the exact same spot. Luckily getting free of this hasn't caused to much damage to me or the other ships all caught up but some reputation loss does occur if a block gets knocked off during the process.
  8. I'm really enjoying the inertia damper. It works pretty well on small to medium sized ships. I haven't found any use for the gyros yet though. Perhaps they are best used on small ships but I'm not seeing much difference than just using thrusters. I guess it gives players another option on ships that may be limited on thruster placement though.
  9. I think the current system is fine. Ships should have weak spots that can be exploited in combat. That way the player is encouraged to use some maneuvers in combat to spread out the damage to the hull of ship.
  10. What the OP is proposing sounds too complex for the average player. Avorion isn't really trying to be a hardcore engineering simulator like some of the other games out there. The current system with some tweaks works quite well. They need to make turrets not fall off the player ship when they are destroyed. Turrets can be repaired and they will reappear on the ship. Turrets need sizing options added. We need a system in place so we can replicate existing turrets more easily.
  11. People have to learn to control their speed and understand the size of their ship. Expecting your 3000 block creation to rotate and brake on a dime is just silly and I would highly suggest using the alternate control set up where you can adjust the throttle position. If you build a giant dreadnought then you should expect dreadnought style handling. So far I like the updated mechanics but I still need to test the newest update with the gyros and inertia dampers.
