  1. Scrapyard sectors take a very long time to generate and (when hyperspace jumping into them) take a very long time to load. I suspect that this is because every single wreck is composed of hundreds of tiny little blocks. Please change scrapyard and wreck generation so that scrapyards have fewer wrecks AND that each wreck uses fewer blocks. ... By the way, I started a new Free Play game and set "Resource Wreckages" to the minimum: 10%. (In the server.ini file, the relevant line reads: "ResourceWreckageFactor=0.100000001") But, when I jumped into a Scrapyard in the Xanion region, it generated 571 wrecks (according to the Galaxy Map). I expected "ResourceWreckageFactor" to change the total number of wrecks, but that didn't happen, so I don't know what "ResourceWreckageFactor" does.
  2. There have been several occasions when I'm doing something in a civilized sector when I abruptly lose control and an NPC says to me "Pssst. Hey, you. We've got a little pirate problem in this area. If you could thin them out for us, we'll make it worth your while. Trust us, our gratitude can be very useful to you." (Recalled from memory; I don't have the exact text in front of me.) This is a bad interaction because sometimes I'm in the middle of something. * This has happened at least twice while I was trying to maneuver around asteroids. * This has happened at least once while I was maneuvering to dock. * This has happened a few times while I was fighting off a pirate attack. * This happened yesterday while I was fighting the system defense forces. (The local faction started off being at war with me when I first met the faction, so I decided to wage war against them.) These NPCs should instead be using the hailing system, just as The Adventurer does. "So-And-So is hailing you. [Enter]: Accept [Delete]: Reject" I haven't lost a ship due to this issue, yet, but it's only a matter of time.
  3. Consider the case of a player making changes to a ship in Build Mode while that ship is carrying cargo. Currently, if the player reduces the overall cargo capacity to below what is needed for the current cargo, then the excess cargo is automatically dumped into space and the player is prohibited from picking it up again for 2 minutes. This happens whether Safe Mode is on or off. I propose that if Safe Mode is on and the player attempts to reduce the cargohold capacity below what's needed for the current cargo, then the operation is stopped with the error message "Removing that much cargohold capacity would dump some cargo into space. Transfer or sell some cargo before trying again."
