  1. I noticed my ship went up to 2.6 after the patch (and the rebuild), but had not tested the peak yet. I am curious how this feels on a larger ship. To have the 2.6, my large ship is over 50% thruster if I had to guess (now many of them directional).

Funny...I thought space was more like: "Asteroids are not distributed uniformly in the asteroid belt, but could be approximated to be evenly spaced in a region from 2.2 AU (1 AU is 93 million miles, or the average distance between Earth and the Sun) to 3.2 AU from the Sun and extending 0.5 AU above and below the ecliptic (the plane of Earth's orbit, which is a convenient reference for the solar system). That yields a volume of roughly 16 cubic AU, or about 13 trillion trillion cubic miles. (Note: space is big!)" edit: to be clear. I am enjoying trying to adapt my ship to the new demands nonetheless. It really does kinda make it challenging all over again (no sarcasm). It took me some experimenting in creative mode to test the thrusters, but it seems they are bi-directional, not single directional? I always find there to be a slight difficulty on terms used, but love the game, keep the updates coming!
  3. I was about half through things on the outer ring and just broke the 9000 achievement. That said, my ship is not the nimble beast it once was. Actually, here was the old ship, I am amazed you survived with such low deference. There is something to be said about the best defense being a good offense!
  4. So, I may be wrong in this, but my testing seemed to indicate that it was tied to the destruction of the mounting block. The mistake I had been using was a small strip of higher level material to mount my highest level weapons. Once I switched to using a large piece of either 'Armor' or 'Stone' (I like to reflect rails or electrical if I can), I have never had this issue again. By large I mean I usually aim for about 4k health from that piece alone. Lastly, I place this on the front of my ship, and place it outside any of the fields so it could take a hit and not damage nearby systems. Before you have shields, I tended to also basically wall off above and to thier sides so the only way to see them was to be shooting directly inside my ship. I am unsure how necessary that part is, as I was not as methodical before shields.
  5. I made a thread on reddit before I found these notes (apologies), but from what I can tell, thrusters have simply undergone a massive nerf, rather than buff. I had taken screenshots of my ship recently and after patching (coincidentally), and in essence, all my thurster related values were reduced by 76-77%. Brake: 188.5 -> 43.7 Yaw: 1.51 -> .36 Pitch 1.95 -> .46 Roll 1.59 -> .37 I did some testing in creative, and took 5 sheets in layers, then combined them, and they reduced the net thrust. Meaning they had a reduction in thrust tied to a reduction in surface area independant to volume. The way I read the notes, I didn't think I would lose the ability to have a nimble ship, and hope this isn't the only direction past a certain size. Before: After:
