  1. Yeah, cause the ginourmous dev team and monthly server costs will ruin koonschi in no time. /sarcasm The strongest point of EA games like Avorion is that development doesn't need to be rushed. The total dev costs per month are tiny compared to most games. Ofc if the dev gets lazy and stops his work we are screwed, but a) Avorion is already worth the money; and b) that's the inherent risk of buying EA games. ;) What?! How can you say that!? I'm offended that you feel the need to be so careful! ^ Welcome to the internet. :D
  2. Did i say otherwise? No! Can you even imagine implementing PvP into the game and saying "nope, we won't balance it at all!". Ofc the devs say they want to balance it, cause they want to balance EVERYTHING in Avorion... it's kind of what they dream about. :D All i said was PvP isn't important for Avorion, and as such balancing the game towards good PvP should be put on a lower priority.
  3. Last time i checked Avorion wasn't e-sport material anyways, besides: the doesn't even intent to focus on PvP. PvP is one of many features, but the core of Avorion has nothing to do with it. => No reason to focus balance towards PvP use.
  4. If there is anything left to complain it's the speed this update was pumped out. Koonschi, every further update now risks to seem slow in comparison. :P JK
  5. *imagines a hedgehog-like Cube* *buahahhaha* Yeah, that's pretty much what would happen.
  6. This only comes into play in PvP, and PvP isn't the focus of Avorion anyways. How does the op intent to stop players from feeling the need to win in PvP? It's normal to use everything that can provide you an advantage in PVP, some asshats even cheat or use exploits just to win even harder.
  7. On normal enemies only deal 10-20% damage, while easy results in meager 2.5% and insane in proper 100%. The other big thing that changes is starting reputation with factions, on insane many start more hostile. Personally i feel insane is balanced best. It may overwhelm a new player, but once you start do understand the gameplay and building mechanics a lil better insane is no big deal at all.
  8. The last hitting turret counts. Useful for salvaging. ;)
  9. If you are looking for high dps lasers aren't bad, cause omicron really don't show dps at all. I would say it depends on your favourite range, if you get close all the time the answer differs from long range.
  10. Just remove all ship parts? The core can only be removed by disabling "save mode" on the left. Deleted parts always return 100% of their costs (if they aren't damaged).
  11. Not anymore, now they only allow for 10 times the HP per individual block. A block behaves at maximum like it has 1000% HP, 900% are borrowed from nearby blocks. Ofc if your ship is made out of 10 equal blocks the benefits will be the same as before, but ships made out of hundreds or thousends of tiny surface parts feel the change. ;) But for most it's no big deal, cause this just means the integrity field fails to protect some of the low HP surface level parts in case of collisions.
  12. His biggest advantage is that a game like Avorion never really gets old, it's more like fine wine that gets better with time. I can imagine myself playing it five years after a long break and enjoying all the new stuff and mods while ignoring the "dated graphics etc." all together. :) The fanbase will grow with time, there is no reason to hurry and for example mix shifty code into the game just to be faster.
  13. Didn't Lathrix say that's why he disabled the ingame music as well? (probably as a precautionary measure, based on past let's plays)
  14. 1. They only turn aggresive if you shot a weapon while they are in the system. 2. At least for me they go neutral again if i restart the game. Restart Avorion, leave the system, and only go there again if you can defeat them (maybe they leave after a while?). (it's worth a try) PS: You might as well fly far away and just jump with your drone, you don't need a gate to leave.
