  1. I will be away for 6+ months, I don't know if I will come back to this game, so I'm just going to give people permission to use, modify, redistribute these ships without the need to credit or request permission from me. Anyway Nice game.
  2. Plox? http://www.avorion.net/forum/index.php/topic,1469.0.html
  3. Mine were some 2mb so not quite small enough to zip.
  4. You should totally get some more pics, Id love to see what you've done,
  5. All my ships are built in the current beta, I havn't tried the most recent stable release.
  6. There ye go, XML is up, I was at work, please ignore the .XML file name... I just started building this ship when my previous ship I was controlling disappeared and I was sent back to the start sector. I gotta admit, I've played various block space ship games/betas/pre alphas, and I've spent years trying to create a "Space" battleship without it being a boat in space, yet retaining distinct callbacks to the Era of the Battleships during WW1-2
  7. Here is my Dedicated battleship, basically I wanted a ship that could mount ogonite and avorion cannons and rail guns. I sought to make it have the profile of a battleship and have those distinct silhouettes, I feel like I have pulled it off, I feel like I have the balanced between a space vessel and a sea based battleship.
  8. For the intrim, there should be some available "hull" blocks behind the armour that you can change to a block of omni-directional thrusters that'll give you enough manuvearbility. I specifically made the internals accessible so I could upgrade/alter for the weapons or systems it needed.
  9. Yep, those plain cylinders of hull blocks at the rear where the main braking thrusters, and a few of those Armour plates where also directional thrusters.
  10. Ill be honest, looks more yellow then olive on my screen, I guess that's why I go for plain greys and such, I kinda hope the dev introduces at least a benefit to using fixed turrets beyond heat-seeking rocket launchers. Just so you know, the heavy cruiser was designed to fit 10 guns 2 on those circles 4 on those side platforms, 2 aside 1 untop placed inline with center of mass to reduce recoil 1 below place inline with center of mass to reduce recoil room for 2 rail guns underneath the bridge at the front Obviously after realizing they looked suspiciously like halo ships I was like "wtf, might as well go all the way" and stuck a orgonite pad for 2 railguns. They look epic in battle when they're rolling with guns blazing in all directions, and then boom the railgun shots streak out from the front.
  11. Except in real life you are limited by demand, which usually translates into either small, high margin trades or bulk, low margin trades. Yes, bulk high margin trades happen, and it should remain a possibility in the game, but the way things are, it's incredibly easy and somewhat frequent to come across trades that will set you up for credits for practically the rest of the game. Well yeah, true, but I was too arsed to go into any of the details.
  12. I use them on small ships, Gyros coupled with inertia blocks and engines and viola, no need for any thrusts anywhere, unless you want to strafe, but with turrets there is little to no point in strafing.
  13. I hope Ive selected the correct XML files.
  14. I found a gate.... yep, it was like 2 sectors away from where I've been wandering around for the last 40hours....
  15. I happens irregardless of the shape your intending to build, you are able to essentially push a block into another object, its hard to explain but I notice it ALL the time in so many situations that I have been unable to narrow down the reason, The only and entirely valid solution is to simply look at each block you place, don't expect them to work the way you want.
  16. I have found plenty of uses for gyro, unless your going for ridiculous gyro to (everything else) ratio for large ships don't use them on large ships.
  17. Basically I want to create a small vessel with only two guns that simply orbit the target vessel to the best of their ability, Subsequently a swarm could be made to orbit a vessel. I know orbiting ships of these sizes, even the most massive is un-scientific, View it as more circling.... Basically think of Homeworld Gunship fighters, how they would orbit and constantly bombard the target.
  18. Added my Armoured Freighter, Cause sometimes that big lumbering SuperFreighter is to slow/vulnerable, This one is respectably maneuverable, this time not as picture heavy, and trying out a new GIF Style. Added my Battle-cruiser, Designed to utilize my excess of cannons, the Rock in the front was to move the Center of gravity forward to keep recoil under control. Added my Heavy-cruiser, Designed to be clean and modular, and have full 360 defence.
  19. Asteroids have a lot of mass, Like a metric FUCK TONNE.
  20. Patrol Sector seems to permit AI ships to goto other sectors, Or maybe my ships just coincidentally flew through the gates.... 6 of them.... into one gate.... Lots of coincidences...
  21. Just a heads up to everyone out there, Real life trading snowballs just like in this game, you buy X10 lots, earn X10 net profits, Build X larger Transport, Buy X20 lots, earn X20 Net Profits, you now have 600% more X$$ than you started with. Obviously that is a very dumbed down/shortened/simplified version, but you get the point, and this excludes any and all other expenses.
  22. Trading, Yes I got lucky, Its easier to sell to XL stations, so add a note on anything of High value and High Demand on the galaxy map, When you go around you'll eventually notice some place selling they same product for pittence in mass quantity, you'll remember you had a potential buyer because you took note of it before. Yes I've fucked up sales, however I to solve this I initially built a ship to store this shit, and left it in a sector with the details of the contents on the galaxy map sector notes, when I check a station for anything ill then go and check the galaxy map. This ship is now obviously mobile and I pilot it while I have my Escort fleet, and the profits simply snowball, problem being I need to spend moneys to keep below the 2 billion mark. In regards to the salvaging fleet, I used a mod, otherwise its a pain in the arse. If you do have a fleet without the mod, set them to "attack" a large salvage and they'll go close in, consequently they use their salvage beams to "attack" it which in turn salvages the ship.
  23. He just added that particular tip about the Leverage from COG tip in last beta patch or something, seen it once so far.
  24. HOLY FUCK, Here I am trying to make gifs of my ships, while manually rotating them... Meanwhile your just using the ship stats page.... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.....
  25. Only 700 crew? for something 3-4km long? What, my ship requires something of the 1000 crew and its not that big (I must be doing something wrong)
