I've got the same problem - during battles FPS is 30-45, in peaceful time it's 60-120 depending on amount of wrecks/loot. I even tried setting everything to low/off - doesn't help. Low/off and Max everything produce about the same results. RTX 2080 Ti, SSD, etc. G-Sync also. But turning off vsync (always had it turned off) doesn't help.

I alt-tabbed back into the game and it immediately crashed. I started the game again and none of my games (galaxies) can be started in either SP or MP with the error message along the lines of "unable to check VAC ban status". I tried starting without a VAC validation, but the error is the same. Tried restarting Steam - same error. Curious observation: AvorionServer.exe keeps running after I quit the game. Even if I kill the process and start the game and try to load a galaxy and then quit the game, AvorionServer.exe stays running after the client has exited every time. The game is unplayable now.
