  1. Well then I guess I keep playing the old galaxy, since I won't miss anything. It's just that I'm still a bit burnt out from my last 100 hours playtime a year ago, but am enjoying the game nonetheless. I have to say I'm very excited to create my first ai worker.
  2. @SneakyTacts Thanks a lot for the thorough clarification! Do you mean the module can only be obtained when starting a new game?
  3. Greetings! My current galaxy was started in April 2019 at game version 0.21 beta and I'm not sure if I should keep playing in it, now that the game is past v1.0. Are there any known issues? Any feature that needs a clean start to be available? I searched the Avorion update page on Steam and the only savegame related info I found was for version 0.29.5: Does this mean the game is bugged as long as there are sectors I haven't revisited? I have revealed like 120 of them. Is there a way to update the sectors algorithm all at once by now, may be with a console command? Or does it even matter? I just don't want to start grinding from scratch.
  4. @cepheni: I think I found it. It's "[Ger] Gemeinschaft deutscher Zocker | PVE" on the current non-beta version (0.20.5.14227) I logged in but I had to start from scratch. May I ask what exactly could lead to lose all progress in multiplayer? Is it because the Appdata stuff was deleted? My steam name is "Inokai". Do I get in touch with an admin using the ingame chat?
  5. Hi, I have made a fresh install of windows 10 some months ago. Backed up the documents folder as always to prevent savegame loss, but at this time I wasn't aware that Avorion's stuff is saved inside the Appdata folder. So I wanted to check in again yesterday and of course my Singleplayer progress is gone, I thought I can live with it, since my main ship was built in multiplayer which took weeks of fiddling. So I attempted to find the server I was last playing on, but it seems impossible, since the server's last visited date is not shown on any of them. And unfortunately I can't remember the name, I only know that it was a german server. My question is if there is any way or trick to identify on which server my ship resides or on which server I have played before the win re-install? I already searched windows for files and windows.old, but weird enough there was no avorion folder in the Roaming folder. :'( Even the slightest hint would be great!
  6. Thank you guys for the explanations, very insightful! And thanks Koonschi for the compliment, it means alot to me! So, in my case it's all about building thrusters further away from the CoM, because I really want to leave the current part of the design untouched as is. So the best thing would be to attach a nice light weight tail specifically designed to hold thrusters en masse, I take it? And may be a similar front construction, to increase strafe stability/power also? As a side note: I'm happy to see what the physics system looks like and I hope it will become even more realistic in the future (i.e. by lowering AI ship rotation speed). I love space colosses being slow to maneuver so you can "feel" the mass. A suggestion to increase this "feeling": If a ship exceeds a certain size and/or weight, trigger a deep lengthy collision sound instead of the metal "clonk" sound. It's kind of funny with a big ship though.^^
  7. I'm confused. Could somebody please explain to me why my X3 Boreas shaped ship with a ton of little thrusters on each side (no stacking), which was rotating fine with the old system, has now gone to small low pitch/yaw values like 0,0x rad/s with the new system? The reason I had covered it with many small thrusters, was the better appearance, but the yaw/pitch went down a lot with the new system: I just don't get it. To make the ship rotate as fast as before, I have to double the amount of thrusters and fill half of the ship with gyro arrays. So, the question after reading all the positive opinions about the current thruster system, is: What am I doing wrong? Obviously it doesn't speed up the ship's rotation, but vastly lowered it. Sorry, I don't get the point.
  8. Good idea. Huge complex ships are a pain to upgrade. Such a replacement system would be splendid.
  9. @skullcowboy60 Hehe, when I re-read my question I was slightly confused too. @JayNic I'd really like to understand this trick. You place a temporary block and build things on it and then delete the temp block? Whenever I tried that, I got the safe mode error and when I disabled safe mode and deleted the temp block all its child blocks were gone as well. I'm probably on the wrong path.^^ @Tsunamik The "Alt" key thing is exactly what I was looking for. Now that I know this, it opens up so many cool possibilities. I wish it would work for basic shapes tho I think I understand why it does not.
  10. Is it possible to somehow change the point where the mouse pointer touches the preview block, so I can attach the preview on another point than its boundary center?
  11. Hi, first of all, great addictive game! Thanks for that! So, I have a little problem: When the game starts and it says it is loading at the bottom left, following error message pops up: "Failed to load library <BASSMIDI.dll>. Cancelling." I have also attached a screenshot. When I click "Ok" the game loads fine and it seems to work perfectly. But still, the error is annoying, as I don't know if it means that something is not working right. I've also googled "bassmidi", without success. The software which is complaining is called VirtualMidiSynth from "CoolSoft". It is a Virtual Midi Output Emulator. I'm not sure how it's connected to the game's loading process. It has probably something to do with audio stuff. The program itself doesn't seem to have any option that would solve the problem. Is there any setting file I can alter to probably get rid of that message or do I have to remove the emulator? I'd rather like to keep it.
