  1. So I wanted to try out boarding on a mine so I could get one of those nice 6-7 mine sectors that all the AIs have, but unfortunately once I captured it, it only allowed me to rebuild the station as a normal station, which is weird since it's a mine.
  2. +1 to these suggestions and one more: Select nearest enemy ship/station that isn't invincible (no targeting gates, torpedoes, or fighters)
  3. I really like your suggestion KonaAI. I think it would help with ship variety.
  4. I was testing the beta branch since I was really excited about the changes, however I found that launchers with the guided trait still have the same issue as before in that if the enemy you fired at drags the rockets into an ally you still take the rep hit, and since it is REALLY easy for rockets to be dragged due to their non-existent speed into allies this is still a major problem for being able to use them around allies.
  5. I'm really looking forward to this update.
  6. Just to make it clear ONLY 'beta - Newest changes, beta' is an actual beta branch. None is the current stable version of the game and all the others are simply there so people can play older versions of the game before changes were made that they may not like.
  7. I just wanted to thank the developers for making such an awesome game. I've already spent a bunch of time playing the game and having fun creating my own ships/recreating ships from other games in Avorion. I really am glad that such a game exists and that the developers are continuing to develop and improve the game.
  8. I really like how powerful the editor is, but I had some ideas on how to further improve it: 1. Allow me to rotate the direction of the block while maintaining the current dimensions. (Basically, allow me to rotate the direction of the block's function without rotating the actual shape) 2. Allow me to mass change all selected blocks to new type 3. Allow me to delete/paste the selected blocks while the inventory window is open 4. Allow me to see the green/red placement color through the hidden blocks (really hard to delete and add new blocks to the interior of a ship when I can't see if it's green or red 5. Allow me to split a block back into smaller blocks (so I can make smaller changes) 6. Delete autosaves after a certain number have been made
  9. After playing the game for a bit, I was struck by how disproportionate the punishments are compared to the rewards, which makes playing around any AI factions feel like a chore and more like I should just purge the galaxy to get rid of all these complete jerks who go from admired to completely abhorrent after one misfire. Current Ways to improve relations: - Invasion Event (either side) seems to be the fastest way to improve relations - Killing enemy ships in sight of allies SOMETIMES gives positive relations (cause you know, they don't care about that one faction killing their guys, but if you hit them, they really hate you) - Missions Current Ways to instantly have your relations die in a gutter - Relations tab - Accidentally hit a civvy ship where they can see it, even enemy civvy ships that they themselves are attacking - Accidentally hit one of their ships in a battle where you're trying to help them out and they moved in between me and the enemy - Have even a single piece of cargo you don't have a license for (with an insane 349854734987435893457 fine) - Breath/Exist (literally my friend jumped into a system he was neutral with, and before he did anything, they were abhorrent) Possible fixes: Equal and opposite relations only, if I do something to enemy x, I get the equal and opposite positive relation to ally y Enemy civvy ships are still enemies Make the scale less insane, I should never be able to go from Admired to Abhorrent in 2 seconds from a single misfire, while taking 4 hours to recover (if I'm lucky) No per hit status change (Temporarily mad and attack? Yes. Actual status change? No)
  10. I definitely agree with showing the ship dimensions, it's always annoying seeing loading screens showing the length of various sci-fi ships, and then not being able to compare.
  11. I like most of the suggestions in this thread, but I really want these 5: 5 - No selecting missiles and fighters in combat 17 - Toggle Free Look 21 - Ability to make my ship transparent 26 - Don't show favorited items in sales list 31 - A reticle that's visible during combat These really are massively required to help make the game better.
  12. I've added 12 point defense lasers with 6 range and maxed stats to my ship, and yet I routinely (when not moving or turning) seen the turrets fail to hit a lone torpedo that's coming to hit me with up to 8 of them shooting at it. It really makes PD turrets feel very weak especially since they take up turret slots for a defense that is questionable at best.

    Ship Editor Bugs

I have found several bugs in the Ship Editor, I'm not sure if they have been posted before or if you need more details. [*]Editor forgets settings in-between uses (Examples: mirror enabled, show/hide blocks, paint color) [*]Selecting a single block will sometimes select the turret on the opposite side of the ship instead [*]Closing the materials window resets the template material to iron [*]Merge blocks does not work with mirror changes [*]Copying and pasting a turret block does not copy the turret design [*]Closing the turret block editor resets the ship editor [*]Closing the turret block editor shows a popup if there is no turret on the turret block (EVERY SINGLE TIME) [*]When trying to place a block, the tooltip for a turret on the opposite side of the ship can show up and block the view [*]Scale entire ship allows individual blocks to be smaller than can be created normally [*]Block cost changes overlaps the stats fields so you can't see how you're changing the stats sometimes
