do the fighters actually defend n stay on top of your ship versus torpedoes or do they fly around still randomly attacking enemies like any regular ship? has this been fixed or still the same?i dont want to commit making a bunch of them just to find out it doesnt work lel pls enlighten me

i always loved avorion from heart,the continued slow work on it,at times very slow,but still..i understand its in early access and theres so much more the devs are working on but..i just cant look away from this and the emotions i spilled around avorion for such a long time recently,all the excitement,just to get rekt like this and have to diehard work around it.. its been a pleasure though,back from when Ziggyd recommended me the game until today,and avorion will always stay in my heart..it just saddens me thats all.. and thank you for the replies,i appreciate it.

so ive been very excited and been looking forward to the economy update for a very long time,checking daily to see when its out of beta since ive been playing another game actively.now that its been revealed that its coming to core on monday,ive been very stoked and decided to use these 3 days to see how it all plays out n works a bit on beta before jumping full retard on monday. my weeks of excitement have been killed by something i however do not understand.and at this point,counless sighs have killed the fun for me about it. mining with miners.controlling them. what exactly? randomly,even right away,the moment i put a mining ship in a sector to mine,it stops.it doesnt mine at all.im in my other ship in another sector,and i wait and wait and nothing is happening.i switch to the ship thats mining,and the moment i load in,its weeeeeeing around and zoomzooming as i take control of it at random speed not appropriate at all to miners.while the entire sector is still full of asteroids untouched.i switch to a drone in the same zone and tell the mine ship to mine and guess what,IT ACTUALLY MINES...until i switch sectors again and leave it be,and it stops again.sometimes it randomly keeps going for a minute or two,but it stops again. it has like 10 mining lasers of titanium rarity,and 2 PD's.i dont know what is causing this but i dont feel like stressing myself playing the game like this when its the freaking economy update after all,and basically months of wait go into nothing because of one stupid bug that doesnt let me actually play the damn game. i am so desperate and frustrated and sad,that i looked up eve online,and ill probably start to play it tomorrow unless someone could potentially help me.ive been dying so long for Avorion,that this is just a hit in the guts for me,sure,i could go minimal.reduce difficulty to lowest.ignore most of the game and push for trinium.start to make fighters n wait ages to get a fleet worth something to start from.but this is supposed to be the Economy update.miners should work.not like this.i want to enjoy them earlygame as a full newbie.not have to hate myself pushing trinium to get blown up by one mistake and start over,or even if not,it still takes time...sigh. i hope someone can help me.
