I've also encountered similar problems while building in the past, but I always wondered whether it was my inability to come up with a way to do it with the existing shapes, or a genuine lack of some necessary basic shapes.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to hook these two edge blocks seamlessly. Perhaps a talented builder out there could offer some advice?
