  1. Players currently can build stations; you must use an NPC shipyard to build a ship, then select "Station Founder" in the menu, You cannot move stations to other sectors once built, but you can jump your ship before founding your station. You can only move a station after it's built using your own ship and force turrets, stations will not move on their own (though they will drift if pushed). Once you build your station, replace the engine/thrusters with cargo bays or assembly blocks. Also you need a decent amount of money to found a station, the cheaper runs run 3-5 million and go up from there, so get lots of money saved up.
  2. Upon further inspection, I found my suggestion was already in the game, apparently.
  3. Any chance there's an ETA on when the loop function will be available again? I'd like to use it for my factory setup
  4. I've been away from the game for a few months, and I want to come back cause I miss the game :p but I wanted to ask if Shuttles ever got updated. I recall there were some pretty severe limits on them (only hauling 1 good at a time, 20 max shuttles per station, etc). Have they been updated at all to make them more effective for multi-station setups?
  5. Makes me wonder if I can just make a ton of the cheapest guns I can find then take them close to the core and just keep rolling the dice til I get something amazing
  6. I did a test with 5 of the exact same salvaging turrets, they wereexceptional (orange/tan) ogonite, about 3k dps, 38 efficiency. The resulting red exotic turret had 1k less dps, 30% less range (0.95 down from 1.5) and the only improvement was +1% efficiency. This was done at the closest research station to the core on the server I play on (about 50 or so units from center).
  7. I have hints disabled, but everytime I load the client on an alternate system other than my main, they still show up untill I dismiss them individually. If I close and re-open, there they are again. I double checked the options menu, and hints are disabled, but they still happen. It's very weird since it's only on certain computers and not my main. I'm starting to wonder if it's because my laptop runs windows 8. Maybe it's having trouble updating whatever registry and/or log file that says "he already saw this hint", I can't say, I don't know enough about programming to pin-point the issue. The worst part is, it's probably impossible to replicate on other systems since it probably has to do with mine alone xD (I imagine)
  8. So I have an unusual bug to report: I have my main PC and a laptop, and when I play on my PC I usually don't get hints that I've alreeady seen, but when I play on my laptop, even with hints and tutorial disabled, I still get pop-up hints every time I log on. Not sure why or how to duplicate this issue, but it is as I've described it.
  9. Alternately you can use a force turret to pull it back to you xD but that's just annoying and I can't spare turret slots for that at low levels.
  10. Ahh, I see. I have indeed noticed some iron or low-lever material guns being much stronger than high level guns, especially railguns.
  11. The server that I play on uses this mod, but when I select my plan, and hit build, it does nothing and provides no error message. Then, the shipyard will not build any ship (random or plan) after that point. Should I provide the server name/IP? (I am not the admin but based on these features, I know it uses this).
  12. I think we've all had issues with disconnects/server crashes while in a fire-fight (or even worse, JUST AFTER warping into a zone with enemies), and coming back online to find ourselves in a drone in our starting location. The only worse feeling is asking somebody to clear the pirates for you so you can recover your belongings, and then having to salvage your own wreckage. It's just an awful experience, especially considering it is not an intended part of your game-play experience. So, I submit 2 ideas that would prevent this: 1: Eliminate all hostile enemies (or make them neutral) in a player-occupied sector X minutes after a server start-up (or, ideally, until the player has taken control of the ship), or 2: Make player created crafts immune from damage after a server start-up. I understand this may be the less popular choice as it may be exploitable depending on how it were implemented. It would just be nice not having to dread fighting (or running into) hostiles with the concern of a server crash costing me my hard work and time. 3: One last alternate suggestion I just thought of: automatically transferring players into a nearby empty sector if hostiles are present in their current sector during/after a server crash. Or, heck, I even wouldn't mind my ship being ported back to the home sector on crash; anything to avoid having it destroyed.
  13. I think this had been updated at some point; as far as I can tell you always get a quality upgrade (5 greens give you a blue, etc) of both turrets and systems. If you put in 5 purple turrets (or systems, for that matter), do you get an even better purple version of that same turret/system?
  14. At least a little bit of this has been rectified; If you have "everything" or "economy" mode active in the chat window, you can see when stations buy or sell product, how many and for how much. We still cannot see exactly how much the products sell for individually unless we take an existing message and divide the cost by the # of units ourselves. My concern is that cargo shuttles that go from in-sector station to station are TERRIBLY inefficient, especially when stations are a long distance apart. They can only move at a maximum of 400 mps (if you make them yourself, maybe there are faster ones you can buy? I haven't looked), and only carry 1 unit each. Plus, it seems like each station can only have a maximum of 20 shuttles active at once, which limits it even more. it can take hours to move thousands of product from, say, a mine to a factory via shuttles, and that's assuming you're hanging in the sector since they don't seem to function out of sector. I have a pretty profitable setup right now (took a lot of credits to set up) on the server that I play on, with gold, platinum and coal mines, a steel factory, power plant, scrap collecter, semi conducters, microchips and processors (the processors sell for about 10k each), and they're all maxed out with shuttle usage, but I constantly have to move product myself because of the distance from the mines to my factory area is so great, product piles up at the mines and the factories run dry. Also I cannot confirm whether or not the shuttles even work when I am out of sector or logged off (have not tested yet). It is good money, but I have to babysit it and that's annoying when I should be exploring and working towards improving my ship.
